Object Obsession: Laura Mercier StickGloss in Peony

Object Obsession is the first in a series. I'm blatantly ripping off Salon.com's series called Object Lust whereby readers write in about whatever product or gizmo has made their lives just that much better. Click here for an example of Salon's work.

Since one of the main things I do is shop (because I am a Dallasite) I thought I'd start up my own consumer-driven series and talk about the store bought things that bring me that much closer to nirvana.

Right now I'm loving the StickGloss from Laura Mercier. I'm a lipstick aficionado so when I come across a product truly outstanding I simply must blog about it. This one meets all the qualities of lipwear - it stays on, it does not dry your lips out, tastes good, the texture is rich and creamy. And it does not cost an arm and a leg. Yes, twenty bucks might be steep for lipstick but crappy drugstore Revlon is about eight to eleven dollars now and Chanel will run just under thirty. So, I guess twenty clams for a lipstick is just the cost of living these days.

I'd go for the color Peony. It is a medium pink that does not look to saccarine sweet yet still has the depth of color girls need these days.

How do I know I'm onto something good? Last night I got a sample in the mail and today, when I went to the store to pick up a tube, Nordstroms was already sold out.

If you are in Frisco, stop by the Nordstrom's Laura Mercier counter and ask for Elaine. She'll help you.
